Tips For Buying An MP3 Player

By Musa Aykac

MP3 players are something that nearly everyone has owned at one time or another. These devices have revolutionized the way we listen to music and other audio. Many people actually feel that the CD player has become a bit pointless these days and a bit out of date. There is a lot of choice now when it comes to buying an MP3 player and here are just a few things you might want to consider.

- An MP3 player can really fill up with music very quickly and you would probably be very surprised by how quickly this can happen. The first MP3 players usually had about one gigabyte of space which meant storage for hundreds of songs and this actually seemed like quite a lot. We are now finding that even an 18 gigabyte MP3 player will quickly fill up; especially if you are using video as well. When it comes to an MP3 player, it is advisable to go for one with at least 12 gigabytes of space if not more.

- If you like to listen to podcasts then make sure that the MP3 player you purchase is good for this. Almost all MP3 players can play podcasts but it is less convenient on some than others.

- Some other devices have an MP3 player built in and you might prefer to buy one of these instead. Although most mobile phones come with MP3 players already built in these days, you need to remember that they won't have the space that you might get with a stand alone MP3 player. Even some eBook readers have built in MP3 players. If you are looking for a cheap solution and only want to listen to a relatively small selection of songs then this can be a good option.

- When it comes to deciding on which MP3 player you should buy then a screen is a good thing to have as is the ability to create your own playlists. An iPod shuffle is small and affordable but does not really offer a lot in the way of functionality.
