Microsoft MCSE Or MCSA PC Certification Courses Described

By Jason Kendall

If you're reading this there's a good chance that you're about to make a move into the great world of IT and an MCSE certificate appeals to you, or you could already be in IT and you've realised that the next stage is a qualification such as MCSE.

As you find out about training providers, stay away from those who reduce their out-goings by failing to up-grade to the most up-to-date Microsoft version. Over time, this will cost the student a great deal more because they've been learning from an out-of-date syllabus which inevitably will have to be up-dated almost immediately.

Training colleges should be dedicated to offering the correct route for their trainees. Educational direction is as much about helping people to work out which direction to go in, as it is helping to help them get there.

Looking at the myriad of choice out there, does it really shock us that the majority of trainees get stuck choosing the job they will enjoy.

Scanning long lists of different and confusing job titles is no use whatsoever. Surely, most of us have no concept what our own family members do for a living - so we have no hope of understanding the complexities of a particular IT career.

Arriving at any kind of right answer really only appears through a methodical examination covering many changing factors:

* Your personality can play a major role - what gets you 'up and running', and what are the things that you really dislike.

* Are you aiming to reach a specific aspiration - for example, becoming self-employed sometime soon?

* What priority do you place on salary vs the travel required?

* Looking at the many markets that the IT industry encompasses, it's important to be able to see what is different.

* Taking a good look into the effort, commitment and time that you're going to put into it.

Ultimately, the only real way of checking this all out is from a long chat with an experienced advisor who understands the market well enough to lead you to the correct decision.

One of the most important things to insist on has to be 24x7 round-the-clock support via trained professional instructors and mentors. Too many companies only seem to want to help while they're in the office (9am till 6pm, Monday till Friday usually) and nothing at the weekends.

Be wary of any training providers who use 'out-of-hours' call-centres - where an advisor will call back during the next 'working' day. This is useless when you're stuck and need help now.

The very best training providers have many support offices across multiple time-zones. By utilising an interactive interface to seamlessly link them all, at any time you choose, there is always help at hand, without any contact issues or hassle.

Never make do with anything less. 24x7 support is the only kind to make the grade when it comes to IT courses. Perhaps you don't intend to study during the evenings; but for most of us, we're out at work when traditional support if offered.

Authorised exam preparation and simulation materials are vital - and should definitely be sought from your training provider.

Confirm that the practice exams are not just posing the correct questions in the right areas, but are also posing them in the same way that the proper exam will phrase them. This throws students if the phraseology and format is completely different.

Practice exams are enormously valuable for confidence building - so when it comes to taking the real thing, you will be much more relaxed.

We'd hazard a guess that you've always enjoyed practical work - the 'hands-on' person. Typically, the world of book-reading and classrooms is something you'll make yourself do if you have to, but you really wouldn't enjoy it. Consider interactive, multimedia study if books just don't do it for you.

Research into the way we learn shows that we remember much more when we involve as many senses as possible, and we get practically involved in what we're studying.

Courses are now available in the form of CD and DVD ROM's, so you can study at your own computer. Utilising the latest video technology, you are able to see your instructors showing you how to do something, and then practice yourself - via the interactive virtual lab's.

Every company that you look at must be pushed to demo samples of the materials provided for study. Make sure you encounter videos of instructor-led classes and interactive areas to practice in.

It's folly to opt for on-line only training. With highly variable reliability and quality from most broadband providers, it makes sense to have disc based courseware (On CD or DVD).
